Responding to the needs of our membership base, such membership addresses issues at the level of Body Corporate Committees and Bodies Corporate, which are usually more complex. There is a minimum 1 year membership term.
Building Membership costs are:
- Buildings with fewer than 50 apartments – flat fee of $500 per annum
- Buildings with more than 50 apartments – cost is $10 per lot/apartment per annum
Even smaller buildings have found that the financial benefits more than cover the cost of building membership, thus making this the more effective category of membership. Indeed, UOAQ is so confident that a building membership will provide the member with the savings, that we offer a money back guarantee for the first year if we are unable to save your building the cost of your membership in the first year! (To be eligible for this offer your building must implement a cash flow management strategy – at absolutely no extra cost for this service. Please see Financial Benefits Explained for further details on this process.). Should the building keep the strategies in place then it will continue to save the cost of the membership each year.
By becoming a building member of the UOAQ your building will see a wide range of benefits, including:
financially measurable (please refer to Financial Benefits Explained document):
- Higher Interest rates on Bank Working Accounts;
- Discounted Insurance arrangements;
- Assistance in tendering for Body Corporate Management Services;
- Ability to enter group tendering for building services.
- Provide strategies and assistance with a range of body corporate committee issues;
- Recommend experts to assist further with issues that can’t be resolved with the assistance of a UOAQ volunteer.
"Let me start by saying, in the highly unlikely event my wife and I ever again purchase within a Community Titles Scheme, our decision would be made predominantly on one factor – is the building a member of the U.O.A.Q .?"
Klayton Roberts, Secretary
Body Corporate of Earlscourt
"Being informed and educated, and being represented by an organisation with a strong voice, is vital if Owners are serious about wanting to protect their investments. I strongly recommend that all Queensland Body Corporates subscribe annually and benefit from the knowledge and services that the UOAQ provide to its members."
Helen Seitam, Secretary / Chairperson
"During this stressful period the UOAQ provided strategy and assistance guiding the Committee to retake control of its complex and transition to a new service provider which understands its service obligations and role in being supportive of the Committee".
Susan Pankhurst, Chairperson
"The committee and I have benefitted greatly from Mr Bob Boundy's mentoring and advice, and drawn on the support from the UOAQ. We feel this same advice would be beneficial to any unit owner or committee wishing to educate themselves, and better protect their investment."
D A Watts, JP (Qual), Chairperson
"Bob, you were the one providing so much of this assistance to me over the last 12 months or so, but this is merely reflective of what I’ve received from the UOAQ as a whole…including support and advice from other members who’ve been through similar experiences and have been willing to share their stories with me. The more we share, the more effective we are; and central to this is UOAQ Building Membership."
Ross Anderson, Interested Observer Owner
"Being informed and educated about your complex, and being represented by an organisation with a strong voice, is pertinent, if Strata Unit Owners are serious about wanting to protect their nest eggs. I would strongly urge and recommended that all Queensland Body Corporates subscribe to become a UOAQ member annually and benefit from the advice and services that the UOAQ provide to its members."
Charmaine Kwong, Secretary
"I personally don't think our body corporate committee could have coped through it's recent ordeal if it wasn't for the UOAQ supporting and encouraging us with ideas that we hadn't thought were possible or realisable, and putting us on to others who have likewise been helpful and supportive of our endeavours. The cost of this incredible service is negligible and their service includes finding savings within your accounts to at least the cost of the membership."
Tracy Barling, Treasurer
