Individual membership

Individual membership of Unit Owners Association of Queensland is designed for individual unit owners - both inverstors and owner occupiers. It offers guidance to owners in dealing with the day to day aspects of individual unit ownership.

The annual fee:

  • $65 for full membership, or
  • $60 for discounted membership (offered to owners occupiers over 60 years of age or members providing email addresses for communication) plus
  • $12 for adminstrative fee (one off fee for new members only).

The benefits of membership with Unit Owners Association of Queensland goes beyond the 'personal' advantages. Consider the following:

Being a non-profit volunteer community organisation, UOAQ is dedicated to improving the rights and lifestyles of people who live in units and townhouses. Our aim is to be an effective network spreading useful information amongst unit owners.

UOAQ is the single organisation in Queensland representing both investment and residential unit owners.  As a recognized stakeholder, the Association meets with Government bodies in order to effect positive change within the industry. It is also worth noting that UOAQ is the only not-for-profit organisation in the entire stakeholder group. Thus the input provided is unbiased by any vested interests and is provided to promote the quality of, and, reduce the cost of, unit living for all Queensland unit owners.

There is an enthusiastic and effective team of like-minded people serving as Committee Members and volunteers.(see the profile of the current Executive Committee). This has resulted in valuable policies being developed and strong support being given to members, such as:

  • Help Line. Referral and advice from a team with over 100 years’ cumulative experience and current knowledge of Government policy and recent QCAT and Adjudicators’ decisions.
  • Membership and representation from the largest collective unit owners voice in Queensland.
  • Representation to Government on all matters pertaining to unit ownership in Queensland.
  • Representation to the BCCM Commissioners Office.
  • The ability to participate in collective submissions on Government discussion papers relating to unit owners and unit ownership in Queensland.
  • The opportunity to provide input to Unit News Online or submit articles for publication.
  • The opportunity to help other unit owners by volunteer work in the UOAQ office.
  • Knowledge that the UOAQ is a Queensland non-profit volunteer organisation working for the interests of all Queensland unit owners and no other organisation / interested group.
  • Safety in knowing that the UOAQ is the only unit owners registered association governed by the Queensland Government Associations Act 1981 and Associations Incorporation Regulation 1999.
Unit owning requires your personal participation in body corporate matters in order to actively manage and protect your investment and / or your home.  Unit Owners Association of Queensland is offering you yet another avenue for playing an active and informed role in your ownership.  JOIN NOW to support and contribute to the association which is the only one advocating solely for the benefits of unit owners.
